GALLERY236’s greater mandate is to bring a larger base of art into our society through interactions with children and adults. With art classes, talks, and opening our gallery to them, GALLERY236 is currently having conversations with various venues to bring art to communities and children.
We are currently in discussions to be a part of summer camps in Los Angeles for children as well as bringing art lessons to inner city children from our local church in Gardena.
We envisioned these classes and invitations to the gallery to be an ongoing dialogue about how we as artists and a gallery open children and adults to the deeper significance of art in our society. Teaching the fundamentals of applying any material onto a surface, whether paint, mixed media, etc., ignites a deeper dialogue within oneself about the merits of our own self exploration and discovery through art.
We see the magic of introducing children to art: imagination, fire in their eyes, squeals of joy and happiness at recognizing their own potential. It furthers our evolution as a society through bringing art and creativity to all aspects of humanity.
